WELCOMING VENERABLE PROFESSOR EMERITUS K. L. DHAMMAJOTI BACK TO MALAYSIA: A WARM RETURN & HEARTFELT ACADEMIC EXCHANGE
Upon his warm return to Malaysia on 17th July 2026, Venerable Professor Emeritus K. L. Dhammajoti, Director of the Vidyācaraṇa Buddhist Resource (VBR), made a special journey to Sam Poh Thong. During the visit, Bhante Dhammajoti and his student, Bhante Assajit, were warmly received by the Abbess of Sam Poh Thong, Venerable Sing Kan (who also serves as the Chief Administrator of VBR), alongside VBR Assistant Registrar, Brother Wai Tuck.
A deeply meaningful meetup was held with both graduates and current students of the Master of Arts (MA) program. Bhante Dhammajoti took the time to personally review their academic progress and offer profound encouragement regarding their future scholarly pursuits, inspiring them to continue their educational journeys toward MPhil and PhD degrees.
Following his visit to Sam Poh Thong, Bhante Dhammajoti graciously delivered a series of insightful Dharma talks across Selangor, sharing his vast wisdom with the local Buddhist community. He met with Dharma brothers and sisters at Shah Alam Buddhist Society on the evening of July 18th, and at Subang Jaya Buddhist Association on the morning of July 19th. Both sessions were met with immense enthusiasm and gratitude as attendees gathered to learn from Bhante’s profound understanding of Buddhist philosophy.
